Texans vs. Seahawks Week 7 Monday Night Football Top Betting Picks, Predictions
The Seattle Seahawks will host the Houston Texans in our second game on Monday night. Seattle’s been one of the biggest surprises in the NFL, recording a 4-2 record through six games. Houston hasn’t been as successful, posting a 2-3 record before their bye week.
These teams feature two of the best defenses in the NFL. They both rank in the top 5 of the NFL in points allowed per play, with the Texans leading the league. Even so, I expect one of these defenses to find drastically more success in this game.
Houston’s featured a dominant defense in 2025, but their numbers are a bit boosted after allowing only 10 points to the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens in their last two games. That isn’t to take away their overall success, though, as they allowed an average of only 17 points per game to the Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Texans are willing to give up big plays, though. Sam Darnold has one of the best deep balls in the NFL, and that could give Seattle an avenue to offensive success, even if it isn’t sustained throughout the game.

I expect the Seahawks defense to find plenty of success, though. We already know that Houston struggles to run the ball. I don’t expect that to get better against a stout defense like Seattle.
More importantly, the Texans have struggled to protect C.J. Stroud this season. They feature one of the worst pass-blocking offenses in the NFL, and the Seahawks can take advantage of that. They’re blitzing at the lowest rate (13.7%) in the NFL, but they still rank fifth in pressure rate (26.3%).
The Seahawks are going to consistently pressure Stroud without sending extra players at him. He’s averaging only 5.1 yards per attempt when pressured in 2025. He also hasn’t thrown a touchdown under pressure, while throwing 2 interceptions.
This game could quickly turn defensive, and I prefer the offense that has big-play potential. Seattle will also benefit from playing in front of their home crowd, making it drastically more difficult for an already bad offense to find success.
I don’t necessarily believe the Seahawks are going to light the scoreboard up, but I trust their offense drastically more than the Texans. I do expect the latter to struggle to sustain drives, and we’re getting slightly too low of a number on one of the most underrated teams in the NFL.
