Pittsburgh answered with 13 points in a row to seize a 61-57 lead with 6:23 to play.

The Aggies came right back when Zach Clemence converted a 3-point play. When Jacari Lane drove for a layup and then made a steal and dished to Rylan Griffin for another layup, Texas A&M took a 64-63 lead it would not relinquish.
The Aggies led throughout the first half, but the Panthers would not go away.
Pop Isaacs gave Texas A&M a 14-5 lead with 14:05 left in the first half, but the Panthers went on an 8-0 run to cut it to one and keep it close the rest of the half.

Dunning took over from there, scoring a layup and then dunking off an Indrusaitis pass to cut the lead to 28-27 with 4:57 left in the half.
Agee and Dunning then started trading baskets as Agee dunked a Hill pass to get the Aggies lead back to 30-27. Dunning answered with his own dunk, then Agee followed with a layup on the way to a 35-33 halftime edge.
