Photo credit: Paul Gannam/ [object Object] The lowly Atlanta Braves earned their 40th win of the season Saturday as they drubbed the St. Louis Cardinals, 13-5.
Redbirds starter Carlos Martinez was tagged with seven runs, six of them earned, through five innings of work. St. Louis crept back and cut the lead to two in the eighth, but the Braves jumped on Jonathan Broxton in the ninth during a six-run inning.
The Cardinals are 58-52. There’s always the next game!
