The Daily Show Takes On NCAA, Leaves Smoking Crater
The Daily Show's Aasif Mandvi ventured into our familiar waters last night with a lengthy piece that delved not just into Minnesota wrestler Joel Bauman's NCAA-verboten singing career but Ed O'Bannon's megaton lawsuit.
Regardless of your position on either of those two issues, the NCAA comes across pretty badly here. Why? Because they refused to sit down with Mandvi at all. By refusing comment to Comedy Central, the NCAA proves itself even more blind/deaf/dumb than any of the dictators or evildoers that have granted the satirical newsprogram an audience.
