The Fourth Pick In The Fantasy Football Draft
This image was lost some time after publication. There's a poor bastard in your fantasy football league that had to, or is going to have to, make the 4th overall selection in the draft. Larry Johnson, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Shaun Alexander are likely to be off the board, leaving this poor schmuck screwed. I can't remember there ever being a worse position to draft than 4th in 2006.
You can't take Peyton Manning there, because he's Peyton Manning. You could go with Tiki Barber, or perhaps Clinton Portis, but the Football Outsiders KUBIAK Projections indicate that either of those would be a bad idea. And if you don't take a running back there, you're going to end up with a starting backfield consisting of people like Kevan Barlow and Lee Suggs.
The reason I bring it up is that I am the poor schmuck in this position in my league. My draft is in a few hours, I'm picking 4th, and I have no idea what I'm going to do. I'm probably just going to start crying and end up passing on the pick, Minnesota Vikings style. If you have any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions, please, don't hesitate.
