The Patriots Will Have To Go On Without Julian Edelman's Grit, ACL
Photo: Duane Burleson/ [object Object] Albert Breer of MMQB reported today that an MRI has confirmed that Julian Edelman sufered a complete tear of the ACL in his right knee. That is almost certainly the end of his season.
The non-contact injury happened Friday during a preseason game against the Detroit Lions, when Edelman caught a pass and appeared to injure his knee after turning upfield. He was able to limp to the sideline before being taken to the locker room.
Edelman was fourth in the NFL in receptions and 13th in receiving yards in the 2016-17 NFL season, and was far-and-away Tom Brady’s number one receiver, catching 60 more passes than any other Patriots wideout. Perhaps now the Patriots will win Super Bowl LII by a narrower margin!
