This Election Season Is Beginning To Resemble An American League Playoff Game
Yeah, yeah, there are supposedly sporting events tonight, but like most about half of one percent of Americans, we'll be huddled around our television, watching election returns come in. If you're one of our readers from Ohio, Rhode Island or Vermont, we hope you voted or are about to. If you're from Texas, we hope you voted sometime this month and are headed to your caucus sites tonight, because you have that annoyingly weird system that's gonna keep us up until 2 a.m. tonight.
This whole election season has had all the inspiration and unpredictability of the greatest sporting events; maybe they should have Berman do a highlight video! Sen. McCain should wrap up his nomination tonight, but you knew that already: This has always been about Obama vs. Clinton anyway. It's just as exciting as sports, except rather than watching game-winning plays, you get to watch Chris Matthews bray a little bit. Tough to beat that. It's just like sports, except you have about 1/1,000,000,000th more influence over what happens!
So, enjoy. It's all as complicated as RPIs. (For a great breakdown of where it all stands, here's your definitive rundown.) As you know, we're Bugs Bunny boosters, but no matter what, it'll be fun tonight. We're guessing Mike Cooper's an Obama voter, but Carl's got Hillary's back, no question.
