Three Days After Walkoff Grand Slam, Steve Pearce Hits Another One
Tom Szczerbowski/Getty Images Last Thursday, the Toronto Blue Jays completed a sweep of the Oakland A’s when Steve Pearce hit a grand slam in the bottom of the 10th for an 8-4 win. It was a great moment for Pearce!
The great moment was topped yesterday, when Pearce hit another walkoff grand slam, this one completing a six-run comeback in the ninth. He hit it off a good friend of his from his time with the Orioles, Bud Norris. (Amazingly, this was the second walkoff grand slam Norris had given up in a week.)
But I know what you really want to see. Both grand slams at the same time in a split screen! Don’t worry—I have you covered.
Per ESPN Stats & Info, Pearce is the third player to hit two walkoff grand slams in the same season. He joins Cy Williams of the 1926 Phillies (who can forget that?) and Jim Presley of the 1986 Mariners.
