Mandatory Credit: Lon Horwedel-USA TODAY Sports Pinch hitter Akil Baddoo hit a walk-off double in the 10th inning as the host Detroit Tigers rallied for a 3-2 win over the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday.
Baddoo drove in automatic runner Parker Meadows with one out against Collin Snider (2-2). Kerry Carpenter hit a game-tying two-run homer in the eighth for the Tigers, who have won three straight. Carpenter has homered three times in two games since coming off the injured list.
Tyler Holton (5-1) pitched the 10th and collected the victory.
Seattle's Julio Rodriguez had two hits and an RBI but left the game in the eighth inning after apparently reinjuring his ankle. Rodriguez came off the injured list on Sunday.
Mariners starter Bryan Woo held the Tigers scoreless for seven innings, allowing only four hits. He has given up just five earned runs in his past five starts.
Bryan Sammons pitched 5 2/3 innings in long relief for the Tigers. He gave up one run and two hits while recording four strikeouts.
Detroit had a threat in the third. Justyn-Henry Malloy led off with a single and advanced on Matt Vierling's two-out hit. Woo struck out Carpenter to get out of the jam.
Seattle ended the scoreless deadlock in the fifth. Dylan Moore doubled with one out and scored on Jorge Polanco's single to left.
The Mariners made it 2-0 in the eighth.
Victor Robles struck out while leading off but reached base on a third strike wild pitch. After a groundout, Randy Arozarena reached on a fielder's choice as reliever Will Vest failed to throw out Robles at third. Cal Raleigh walked to load the bases.
Rodriguez blooped a single to left to bring in Robles. Rodriguez tweaked his ankle during the at-bat and left for a pinch-runner.
Luke Raley struck out against Shelby Miller and Mitch Haniger flied out, leaving the bases loaded.
Vierling had a two-out, ground-rule double against Yimi Garcia in the bottom of the inning. Carpenter then drilled a fastball over the right field wall to tie the score.
Holton struck out two of the three batters he faced in the 10th.
