Timberwolves Owner: Kevin Love Will Likely Be Traded By End Of August
Since the beginning of the NBA offseason, we've been wondering if the Timberwolves will move Kevin Love, who has one year left on his contract and would prefer to spend his future somewhere that isn't Minnesota. Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor now says that although he'd like to keep Love, the power forward will probably be traded by the end of the month.
Taylor spoke about plans for Love with the Pioneer Press, specifying that a trade could happen on Aug. 23 or 24. Though he didn't mention any interested teams by name, the date is a bit of a clue. The Cleveland Cavaliers signed top pick Andrew Wiggins to a contract on July 23, so the team has to wait a month before trading him. Also, LeBron James wants Love on his team, and LeBron gets what he wants, right?
Nothing's certain, obviously, but it seems the Cavs will give up the potential of Wiggins for the immediate effect of Love. Sucks for Wiggins.
