This image was lost some time after publication. If you're like us, you've just been assuming all along that Elton John is a big baseball fan. Yep, he is — or so claims his tour manager, D.C. Parmet. How do we know this? Parmet is the latest contributor to MLB Blogs.com — the site that lets you do all the work, and makes you pay them!
In his first post over at Out of the 612, Parmet tells us, well, not much of anything. Except that he's in a hotel room in Slovakia, where Sir Elton is performing on tour. Presumably Parmet will be keeping us informed about his favorite team, the Twins (hence the 612 of the title — the Minneapolis area code, doncha know). The entire concept is pretty much a mystery. When will Elton John ever come anywhere near Minnesota? And when will Parmet have time to post, what with all his duties — the trips to the drug store, the constant applying of lotions and the endless cataloguing of all of his boss' enormous sequined glasses? Well, we just thought you should know that Elton John and Tommy Lasorda are finally together on the same site. Yes, the end of the world is very, very near.—RC
