Today In MLB Blogs
This image was lost some time after publication. If you're like us, you begin each day by asking "What would Tommy Lasorda do?" Never one to shy from the controversial issues, Tommy will always stand up for what is right. When he sees an injustice, he moves to right it. When he senses that people are in trouble, he is the first to offer assistance. Don't call him a hero — just call him an American. Now Tommy needs your help. Please stop watching the John Bolton Senate confirmation hearings and push yourself away from the desk where you were writing a check for tsunami victims. You need to get to your computer. Tommy is currently mounting a write-in campaign to get Dodgers shortstop Cesar Izturis onto the All-Star Game roster, so you can see that time is of the essence. You can e-mail your votes through MLB Blogs.com, for which Lasorda is a major spokesperson. Vote early, and vote often (Izturis' lifetime batting average: .266). We can think of no more noble way to spend your time. Oh, and Tommy also suggests that you take that $50 you were going to send to Childhelp USA and spend it on your own blog site at MLB Blogs.com. Forget the fact that you can start a blog just about anywhere else for free. Tommy says it's the right thing to do!
