Humor. Who knows exactly how it works? Some things just strike us as amusing. For instance we were watching a rerun of the TV show "M*A*S*H" last night and witnessed the following exchange: Frank Burns: "Listen Bub, I'm a pretty fair doctor myself. You can ask any of my patients." Hawkeye: "We're not digging up people just for that." Funny. As is just about any Marx Brothers film. Also whenever we see a photo of Karl Rove's gigantic head, it strikes us as pretty hilarious. MLB Blogs.com has a different sense of humor, however. Their idea of a laugh riot is Diamonds Are For Humor, one of their flagship blogs. Billed as the comedy relief of their lineup, this blog is painfully the opposite — one friend we showed it to actually began to weep and wouldn't stop until we unplugged the computer.

What's in store for you at Diamonds Are For Humor? There are photos of players in various odd poses, accompanied by similarly odd statements — you know, like in your junior high yearbook. There's a link to Baseballprospectus.com (laugh track). Then there is this timeless comedy gem: "... This sent me to baseball-reference.com, to generate the list of teams that averaged less than 3.00 runs per road game for a season. Here they are in reverse historical order, from 1962 post-expansion on: ..." Excuse me while we catch our breath. Ohhhh man. Whew.
