Tundra Esports took down Aurora Gaming 3-1 in the grand final of DreamLeague Season 28 on Sunday to secure the $250,000 first prize.

Tundra also received 5,010 ESL Pro Tour Points and an additional club reward worth $40,000. After placing second in Group Stage 2, Tundra sailed into the grand final by sweeping Team Liquid 2-0 in Saturday's upper-bracket final.

Aurora received the $100,000 prize for second place, and Liquid -- who went a perfect 7-0 in Group Stage 2 for the top overall seed -- settled for third place and $80,000.

Aurora and Liquid met earlier Sunday in the lower-bracket final, where Aurora prevailed in 37 minutes and 35 minutes on green. Two Aurora players, Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko of Russia and Artem "lorenof" Melnyk of Ukraine, tallied 17 kills apiece in the romp.

In the grand final, Tundra opened with a 42-minute win on red followed by a 28-minute breeze, also on red. Aurora stayed alive by taking the next map in 32 minutes on green, but Tundra clinched the championship by grinding out a 47-minute triumph on green.

Bozhidar "bzm" Bogdanov of Bulgaria led Tundra in the grand final with an average kills-deaths-assists ratio of 9.3-3.0-9.8.

The $1 million Dota 2 event began with 16 teams competing in a round-robin stage split into two groups of eight teams. All series consisted of two games, and the top four teams from each group advanced to Group Stage 2, a single round robin featuring best-of-three matches that ran through Friday.

The playoffs featured best-of-three matches until the grand final, which was best-of-five.
