Tundra upset HEROIC in Fissure Playground Belgrade playoffs

Jordan Woodruff HEROIC, one of two teams that posted perfect records in the group stage of the Fissure Playground Belgrade event, lost their playoff opener on Tuesday in Serbia.
Tundra Esports edged HEROIC 2-1 in an upper-bracket quarterfinal match.
The other unbeaten team in the group phase, BetBoom Team, posted a 2-1 victory over Talon Esports on Tuesday.
Also advancing to the upper-bracket semifinals were Team Spirit, who edged PARIVISION 2-1, and Team Falcons, who topped Team Liquid 2-1.
The $1 million Dota tournament began with 16 teams competing in a group stage using a modified Swiss system. Group-play matches were best-of-three for matches that determined advancement or elimination and a single map for all other matches.
The top eight teams in the group phase moved on to the double-elimination playoffs. All playoff matches will be best-of-three except for the grand final on Sunday, which will be best-of-five.
On Tuesday, Tundra began with a 47-minute win on red before HEROIC equalized with a 50-minute victory on red. Tundra took the decisive third map in 40 minutes on red.
Israel's Neta "33" Shapira paced Tundra with an average 10.7/4.7/15.0 kill-death-assist ratio. Nicaragua's Yuma "Yuma" Langlet finished at 11.0/5.7/8.7 for HEROIC.
BetBoom Team sandwiched 24- and 60-minute wins on red around Talon Esports' 44-minute victory on red.
Russia's Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko produced an average 9.7/6.3/11.7 K-D-A ratio for BetBoom Team. Indonesia's Rafli "Mikoto" Fathur Rahman logged a 9.0/4.7/8.0 for Talon Esports.
Team Spirit jumped in front with a 43-minute triumph on red, but PARIVISION replied with a 61-minute win on green. Spirit sealed the series with a 68-minute victory on red.
Ukraine's Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk logged an average 12.3/3.0/17.7 K-D-A ratio for Spirit. Another Ukrainian, Volodymyr "No[o]ne-" Minenko, wound up at 11/4/10 for PARIVISION.
Team Falcons took a 36-minute victory on green before Team Liquid grabbed a 39-minute win on green. On the final map, Falcons claimed the series in 39 minutes on green.
Slovakia's Oliver "skiter" Lepko registered an average 5.0/2.7/11.0 K-D-A ratio for Team Falcons. Sweden's Michael "miCKe" Vu recorded a 6.0/2.0/5.7 K-D-A ratio for Team Liquid.
The two upper-bracket semifinal matches will be contested Wednesday:
