Twins' Carlos Correa, Byron Buxton collide, exit game vs. Orioles
May 10, 2025; Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA; Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (4) and Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (25) celebrate a victory over the San Francisco Giants at Target Field. Mandatory Credit: Matt Blewett-Imagn Images Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa and center fielder Byron Buxton left Thursday afternoon's game against the host Baltimore Orioles following a collision in the bottom of the third inning.
The duo was pursuing Cedric Mullins' pop-up in shallow center field when Buxton made the catch before they made contact and both fell to the turf. It appeared that their heads bumped, with other Twins on the field immediately motioning for trainers.
Correa immediately was replaced by Jonah Bride, while Buxton played the rest of the third inning before being replaced by Ty France.
Buxton homered earlier in the game for the Twins.
