Mandatory Credit: Tommy Gilligan-Imagn Images The Baltimore Orioles' home game Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins was postponed due to inclement weather.
Instead, the teams will play a traditional doubleheader Wednesday to kick off their three-game series. Because of more rain in the forecast for Wednesday evening, Game 1 will start at 12:05 p.m. local time, with Game 2 following about 30 minutes after the first game ends.
The series is still scheduled to conclude Thursday afternoon at 12:35 p.m.
Baltimore and Minnesota haven't played since Sunday, when the Twins (21-20) won their eighth straight game in a 7-6, 10-inning contest against the San Francisco Giants, while the Orioles (15-24) won a rubber match at the Los Angeles Angels 7-3 before flying back east.
Pitching plans for the doubleheader were not yet known. The matchup scheduled for Tuesday would have pitted Orioles left-hander Cade Povich (1-3, 5.55 ERA) against Twins right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson (2-2, 4.01).
