The Minnesota Twins released three-time All-Star closer Liam Hendriks on Friday.

The 37-year-old Australian right-hander was a non-roster invite to spring training, where he allowed two runs in six innings while striking out four and walking three in six relief appearances.

Hendriks went 0-2 with a 6.59 ERA in 14 appearances out of the Boston Red Sox bullpen last season.

An American League All-Star in 2019, 2021 and 2022, he led the league with 38 saves for the Chicago White Sox in 2021.

Hendriks missed part of the 2023 season while recovering from treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He missed the entire 2024 season following Tommy John surgery.

He is 33-36 with 116 saves and a 3.88 ERA in 490 career games (44 starts) with the Twins (2011-13), Kansas City Royals (2014), Toronto Blue Jays (2014-15), Oakland Athletics (2016-20), White Sox (2021-23) and Red Sox.

The Twins open the 2026 regular season next Thursday against the host Baltimore Orioles.
