Mandatory Credit: Matthew O'Haren-Imagn Images Winning pitcher Owen Guzman cracked three of his team's 13 hits as Nevada advanced to the Little League World Series championship game with a 12-2 victory over Ohio on Saturday afternoon in South Williamsport, Pa.
The Mountain Region representatives from Paseo Verde Little League in Henderson, Nevada, will face Pariba Little League from Willemstad, Curacao, in the title game at 3 p.m. ET Sunday.
Nevada pieced together four singles, two walks and one hit-by-pitch to produce five runs in the bottom of the second to take a 6-1 lead. Guzman, Carsynn Meyer and Maddox Bryan (2-for-3, 3 RBIs) contributed run-scoring hits during the inning.
Guzman allowed five hits and two runs over 3 2/3 innings to pick up the win. Bob Frazier paced the Great Lakes Region from West Side Little League in Hamilton, Ohio, with two hits, one run and the team's lone RBI.
