Vacations Make Us Antsy; Back To Work
After five days and four nights in what is literally the most beautiful place we have ever visited, one would think returning to the stunning glamor of the Abe Stark Sports Center would be a comedown. But, frankly, we're glad to be back, and not just because the time off verified our nagging fear that we will never, ever be able to grow a beard. (Call it "vacation peach fuzz.")
Anyway, at the end of the big book tour, we needed some time to hide from everything, and we certainly did so. Until this morning, we had no idea what had happened in sports over the last week — wait ... did Juan Gonzalez really homer off Johan Santana? — and we haven't looked at the city either. We're less than a month from opening day, just a couple of weeks from Selection Sunday and, hey, they're already signing contracts in the NFL. The future's bright, kids, and we're ecstatic to be back to dive into it all. (Seriously: Juan Gonzalez homered off Johan Santana.) And we promise not to talk about Turks and Caicos anymore. We don't want to turn into this:
Thanks for having us back. Let's dig in.
