How would you caption this photo of Vancouver Canuck Jordan Subban celebrating a goal with his teammates? Maybe you'd reference his uniform number, since it's the only one not clearly visible. Whatever the solution, "dark guy in the middle" was not it.
Today, the Vancouver Sun and the Province apologized for leaving the "dark guy in the middle" caption in when they published the photo for their sites.
How did both papers use the same cutline? Vancouver Sun deputy editor Gillian Burnett said the phrase came from the photographer:
