Warley's exit comes less than two weeks after the abrupt retirement of Virginia head coach Tony Bennett.
The 6-foot-7, 205-pound senior from Philadelphia had been expected to compete for a starting job this season.
Warley averaged 6.0 points, 2.9 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 96 games (58 starts) over three seasons with the Seminoles.
The Cavaliers open the season Nov. 6 at home against Campbell.
