Mandatory Credit: John Hefti-Imagn Images Golden State star Stephen Curry underwent an MRI late Thursday night after leaving the Warriors' 117-114 win over the Toronto Raptors with what the team called a pelvic contusion.
Late in the third quarter of the game in San Francisco, Curry dribbled into the lane and was looking to make a pass when he collided with two Toronto defenders and fell on his tailbone area.
Curry left the game and didn't return.
After Golden State rallied in the fourth quarter to win, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said of Curry, "He was trying to come back (into the contest). He thought he might be able to come back. We just decided not to risk anything. So, hopefully it's not bad."
Curry wound up scoring 17 points in 25 minutes as the Warriors won for the ninth time in 10 games. Golden State is 16-3 since making a trade for Jimmy Butler III, who had a triple-double against Toronto.
In 60 games this season, Curry is averaging 24.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists.
The 11-time All-Star, four-time NBA champion and two-time Most Valuable Player has career averages of 24.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.4 assists. He is the NBA's all-time leader in 3-pointers (4,008) and free-throw percentage (91.1 percent).
The Warriors open a six-game road trip on Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks.
