Washington State Gives Community Service Award To Player For Completing Court-Ordered Service

A hearty congratulations to Washington State linebacker Logan Tago for being awarded the Fall 2017 CCE Community Involvement Award! Tago notched an impressive 240 hours in the community during the fall semester.

Why did he spend the equivalent of 10 days doing community service? Turns out it was part of a plea deal Tago accepted last January, where he pleaded guilty to third-degree assault in order to get felony robbery charges dropped. Tago was arrested in Sept. 2016 after a man accused him of stealing a six-pack from him on the street and hitting him in the head, apparently leaving him concussed. He was temporarily suspended by the school and team, and later ordered to serve 30 days in Whitman County jail and perform 240 hours of community service, which he has now earned an award for.
