We would be remiss if we did not pay tribute to Mark Lisanti, our colleague at Defamer, who is leaving the site after almost four years. We weren't sure we wanted to do this "blog" business when we were thinking of starting Deadspin, but reading what Mark did on a daily basis over at Defamer was the clincher: If someone could be that good at it, there had to be more value in the medium than we'd initially understood. Everything you like about this site, we stole from Mark Lisanti was doing at Defamer around 2005. You will be missed, Mark; now finally go write that freaking screenplay already. Sheesh.
