When There Are Too Many High Fives, There Are No High Fives
This is from an April 7th game between the Capitals and the Tampa Bay Lightning but it is tremendous and we are sharing it.
These four people are so overjoyed— cised, even—with Alex Ovechkin's empty-netter at 4.4 left in the third period that not one of them manages to connect on an ordinary high five. It's as if their hands were all similarly charged magnets. Or maybe this is the two-sticks-plus- something moment for these four people who clearly have the kernel of an idea of how to celebrate exciting moments with their fellow fan but lack the instinctual wherewithal to see it through.
