Capra, 28, was designated for assignment by the Brewers last week and will move into Chicago's open 40-man roster spot, with an additional move needed to get him onto the active roster.
Capra was just 4-for-54 (.074) in 24 games this season before he was cut loose by Milwaukee. In parts of four major league seasons, Capra is a career .105 hitter with one home run and five RBIs in 44 games.
