William Contreras blasts Brewers past Mariners

William Contreras blasted a pair of two-run homers as part of a 4-for-5 showing and the host Milwaukee Brewers coasted to a 12-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Sunday in the rubber match of a three-game series.
Contreras finished with five RBIs and three runs for Milwaukee, which was helped by a solo shot from Willy Adames.
Oliver Dunn, Jake Bauers and Sal Frelick each added two hits as the Brewers collected 14 as a team.
Milwaukee starter Colin Rea (2-0), with more than enough run support, came away with the win after allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits in six innings. He didn't issue a walk and struck out three.
Thyago Vieira followed with three innings out of the bullpen and was credited with a save.
Right-hander Emerson Hancock (1-1) didn't stick around long for Seattle, getting lit up for eight runs and 11 hits in 3 1/3 innings. Hancock walked one and fanned six.
Dominic Canzone clubbed a two-run homer for the Mariners. Josh Rojas had two hits and an RBI.
The Brewers took a 6-2 lead into the fourth, where they put the game out of reach.
Dunn opened the inning with a triple and scored on Contreras' single before Adames cleared the left field wall to make it 8-2. Jackson Chourio later walked with the bases loaded, and Brice Turang capped the rally with a run-scoring groundout.
Seattle opened the scoring in the first on Jorge Polanco's RBI single, but Milwaukee responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame.
It was more of the same in the second, when Rojas brought in Dylan Moore with a base hit to pull the Mariners within 3-2. But the Brewers once again had an answer in the home half of the inning — another three runs — pushing the margin to 6-2 thanks in part to Contreras' two-run shot.
Reliever Tayler Saucedo was able to finally slow Milwaukee down after coming on in the fourth. He provided 2 2/3 innings of hitless, scoreless relief.
Contreras went deep again in the eighth, this time off Rojas, a third baseman.
Canzone homered in the ninth to close the scoring.
