Yandex, BetBoom advance to FISSURE Playground 2 upper-bracket final

Jordan Woodruff Team Yandex and BetBoom Team clinched top-three spots and advanced to the upper-bracket final of the FISSURE Playground 2 event with wins on Wednesday in Belgrade, Serbia.
Team Yandex rallied for a 2-1 win over MOUZ while BetBoom Team handed Team Spirit its first loss of the tournament, also 2-1, in upper-bracket semifinal action.
The losing teams fall into the lower-bracket quarterfinals and await the winners of Friday's lower-bracket Round 1 matches. The winning teams will face off Saturday for a spot in the grand final.
The $1 million Dota 2 event began with 16 teams competing in a Swiss system group stage from Oct. 23-27. The top eight teams from that stage advanced to the double-elimination playoffs.
All playoff matches are best-of-three except for the grand final, which is best-of-five. The winning team will take home a $300,000 prize plus a $50,000 club reward.
Team Yandex dropped its opening game to MOUZ 23-11 on red in 35 minutes, but came from behind with a 30-minute, 25-7 victory on red and a 64-minute, 45-27 win on green. Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov of Kazakhstan led Team Yandex by totaling a 26-6-29 kill-death-assist ratio.
BetBoom Team won 17-10 in 39 minutes on green, then was smacked 20-2 in 21 minutes on green but bounced back for a 40-minute, 22-7 victory on green in the third game. Moldova's Vitalie "Save-" Melnic led BetBoom Team with a 9-7-29 K-D-A.
After a day off Thursday, the tournament continues Friday with three matches:

--Team Spirit vs. Tundra Esports/Team Falcons winner (lower-bracket quarterfinals)
