    Honest question: I realize this crap doesn't play that well around here (Pareene apparently does not), seeing as how it's a sports site and all. But is ridiculous shit like this really welcomed over at Gawker?

    I can't picture a venue where craptastic satire like this is applauded.

    @BruschisBrewsky: I guess I'm easy to please, but I like Pareene, Moe, FJM, Choire, etc. You may not find the above funny, but it is well written. If Deadspin was all Drew (for example and I love Drew) I would find it boring. It doesn't have to please everyone, but I like that AJ takes chances on the weekend.

    @MarkKelsosMigraine: I liked most of FJM and I thought Choire was awesome, but they talked to the readers (READERS not commenters). Today's posts (and the last weekend they did this) its obvious they are talking to each other and in some kind of private competition, written out loud to us. The last Pareene/Moe (or Pareene/someone else I can't remember) weekend literally contained a post with a conversation between them.

    I like the idea of bringing in random people (and I make no claims to pretending DS owes me anything, I just go with it, like you said) but the attitude from these guys, from the get-go, is one of hostility, perpetuating a cycle since they know some commenters are going to hate on THEM (we do it to everyone at some point). And I haven't found any of it to be funny. Even Buzz's hatred of us was, at least, funny, in parts.

    @MarkKelsosMigraine: Fair enough, but it just seems to me that AJ is going for weekend page clicks by bringing in writers he knows are going to be a total disaster.

    It's like a highway accident, nobody wants to see it, but I'll be damned if it doesn't back up traffic on both sides from rubberneckers.
