George Kirby heads to the mound for the M’s, who were staked to an early 2-0 lead thanks to a two-run home run from CF Julio Rodriguez. The Jays exploded for five runs in the third inning and never looked back in a 13-4 rout.

Shane Bieber struck out eight batters in six innings of work for Toronto, as the Blue Jays won in the road underdog role.

Bieber is flipped to a favorite here against Kirby, who got the start in the decisive Game 5 against Detroit in the ALDS 15-inning triumph.

The key for Seattle is if Kirby can pitch at least five innings, as no Mariners’ starter has pitched past the fourth inning in the last five games.

The right-hander should be able to rebound tonight and will make it through four innings as long as he avoids the big Toronto outburst.
