Adrian Peterson Told His Urine Tester He Smoked Weed, For Some Reason
Prosecutors in Adrian Peterson's criminal case in Texas are asking a judge to revoke the running back's bond and have him arrested, again, after they say Peterson admitted during a urine test that he "smoked a little weed."
Peterson is charged with one count of negligent injury for allegedly beating his 4-year-old son with a switch. He's currently out of jail on $15,000 bond. The motion, filed today in Montgomery County, says the urine test happened on Wednesday, the same day as Peterson's first court appearance.
During this process, the defendant admitted to Justin Whitehead, an employee of Davis Investigations, which conducts urinalysis testing for this Court; that he smoked a little weed. In light of this statement, and the fact that it was made during the urinalysis testing process, and the term "weed" is a common slang term for marijuana, the State argues that the defendant has smoked marijuana while on bond for the current offense.
The motion closes with the assistant district attorney asking that a writ be issued for Peterson's arrest.
