San Diego (5-7-6, 21 points) nearly tied it four minutes later but Marcus Ingvartsen's left-footed shot from the left side of the box caromed straight down off the crossbar and out.

Dreyer then passed to a wide-open Ingvartsen in the middle of the box on a 2-on-1 counter but Ingvartsen's left-footed shot hit the crossbar.
