Jo Adell pinch-hit for Trout in the top of the fourth inning. In his first two plate appearances, Trout produced a single and a groundout. At the end of the latter at-bat, the 33-year-old appeared to pull up slightly after sprinting through first base.
Trout returned to right field for the bottom of the third, but Adell took his next at-bat with two runners on and two outs.
Before leaving Wednesday's game, the oft-injured Trout had played every inning this season and compiled a .179 batting average and .726 OPS with nine homers and 18 RBIs in 29 games.
Trout, a three-time American League Most Valuable Player and 11-time All-Star, owns 387 career homers, 214 stolen bases and 972 RBIs, but he has not played 120 games in a season since 2019.
