Angels sign LHP Matt Moore

In a corresponding move, the Angels designated infielder Trey Cabbage for assignment.
Moore, 34, was an All-Star selection in 2013 while with Tampa Bay, which had selected him in the eighth round of the 2007 MLB Draft.
He has played parts of 12 seasons with the Rays (2011-16), San Francisco Giants (2016-17), Texas Rangers (2018, 2022), Detroit Tigers (2019), Philadelphia Phillies (2021), Angels (2023), Cleveland Guardians (2023) and Miami Marlins (2023).
Last season, he was a combined 5-1 with a 2.56 ERA, 60 strikeouts and 15 walks in 52 2/3 innings over 50 games. The Angels saw him go 4-1 with a 2.66 ERA, 49 strikeouts and 12 walks in 44 innings over 41 games.
For his career, Moore is 66-63 with a 4.36 ERA, 1,012 strikeouts and 460 walks in 1,094 1/3 innings over 318 games (164 starts).
Cabbage, 26, hit .208 in 53 at-bats over 22 games as a rookie in 2023.
