Aussie Rules Football Player Scores Goal, Falls Down In Same Motion

Despite Australian Rules Football being one of our favorite sports here, we don't cover it often because pesky issues like time zones lead to matches being played while most of us are drunk or asleep. That's a shame, because at least two matches a week are aired here live, and they're almost always entertaining.

Last night's Port Adelaide-Hawthorn match was one of them, though it turned out to be less-than-competitive as AFL leaders Hawthorn cruised to a 45-point win over the Power. We'll still pick a Port Adelaide score as our favorite moment of the match, though, as Robbie Gray makes a spectacular deke on his defender to score an easy goal, then slips and falls in the aftermath. This is a Deadspin Video, in which strange sports moments are slowed down to ridiculous speeds and matched with indie music. This video features "Ever Falls The Twilight" by The Gothic Archies. See previous episodes here.
