Avalanche sign F Taylor Makar to 2-year extension

Downing-Imagn Images The Colorado Avalanche announced a two-year extension with forward Taylor Makar on Monday.
Terms were not disclosed. with multiple reports indicating it is a two-way deal for 2026-27 worth $850,000 at the NHL level and a one-way, $900,000 contract for 2027-28.
Makar, 25, is the younger brother of Avalanche star defenseman Cale Makar.
Taylor Makar was a seventh-round draft pick (220th overall) in 2021 and made his NHL debut in November. He appeared in 12 games in 2025-26 and contributed 17 hits, seven shots on goal and one blocked shot.
