Ben Roethlisberger's Grumpy
Photo: Joe Sargent/ [object Object] The Steelers had their doors blown off by the Jaguars on Sunday, with Ben Roethlisberger throwing five picks. Pittsburgh is still 3-2 and tied for first in the AFC North, but Big Ben has been especially cranky lately.
After the team’s 30-9 loss to Jacksonville, a sullen Roethlisberger said, “Maybe I don’t have it anymore.” He was more confident about his abilities this week, but at today’s scrum, he grumped about how the media has covered the Steelers’ open displays of unhappiness, like Antonio Brown fighting a water cooler in Week 4:
Roethlisberger openly mulled retirement this offseason, has played like shit this year, and doesn’t actually seem to want to play football right now. It’s common for him to have fits like this when the Steelers aren’t doing so well, but he’s 35, so it’s difficult to predict how many more of these episodes he has left in him.
