The move saves the Bengals $8 million against their salary cap in 2025, according to reports. He joined the Bengals on a four-year, $35 million deal in March 2022.
Cappa, 30, started all 50 games he played in for the Bengals across three seasons.
A third-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2018, Cappa has played in 102 career games (96 starts) for the two teams.
