Mandatory Credit: Sergei Belski-Imagn Images Brady Tkachuk scored 55 seconds into overtime and the visiting Ottawa Senators beat the Calgary Flames 3-2 on Thursday for their fifth straight win.
The game ended with a series of end-to-end rushes. After Senators goalie Linus Ullmark made a save on Jonathan Huberdeau, he sent an outlet pass to Tim Stutzle, whose shot was stopped by Dan Vladar, but Tkachuk knocked in the rebound for his 16th goal of the season.
Nick Cousins and Ridly Greig also scored for the Senators, who own the NHL's longest current winning streak. Ullmark made 29 saves and earned his first assist of the season on the game-winning goal.
Blake Coleman and Huberdeau scored for the Flames, who have lost three of four (1-2-2). Matt Coronato had two assists, and Vladar made 26 saves.
The Senators were 0-for-3 on the power play and the Flames were 1-for-2.
Coleman gave the Flames a 1-0 lead at 12:14 of the first period when he scored in front off the rebound of Kevin Bahl's shot.
Cousins tied the score 1-1 with one minute remaining in the opening period when he knocked in a loose puck after Jake Sanderson's shot was blocked in front.
Calgary's Martin Pospisil hit the post in the opening minute of the third period.
Greig gave the Senators a 2-1 with a short-handed goal at 6:24 of the third. Greig intercepted a Nazem Kadri pass and skated in on a breakaway. Vladar made the initial save, but Greig scored on the rebound. It was Greig's second career short-handed goal.
Huberdeau tied the game 2-2 during that same power play at 7:16. Coronato received a pass down in the left circle from Connor Zary, then passed across the crease and the puck deflected in off Huberdeau's skate. A review confirmed the puck was not kicked before going in the net.
