Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb, whose status was unclear earlier in the day, was in the starting lineup for the Golden Knights on Saturday night against the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final in Las Vegas.

In Game 2, McNabb was struck in the face by an 87-mph shot by Hurricanes forward Nik Ehlers. He was transported to the hospital.

McNabb, who was wearing a full cage attached to his helmet, collected an assist on Mitch Marner's second of his three goals in the second period as Vegas surged to a 4-0 lead after a scoreless first period. The Hurricanes rallied with three third-period goals in a 39-second span as play continued on Saturday night in the series tied 1-1.

While the Golden Knights issued no formal update on the 35-year-old veteran before the game, his teammate on the blue line, Shea Theodore, stated McNabb was present at the team's practice facility on Saturday.

McNabb appeared in 63 games for the Knights this season, recording five goals, seven assists and a plus/minus of +2.
