Mandatory Credit: Jeff Curry-Imagn Images With rain in the forecast for several hours surrounding the scheduled game time, the St. Louis Cardinals' home game against the Milwaukee Brewers was scratched Tuesday afternoon.
Instead, the National League Central rivals will fit in a split doubleheader on July 7 when the Brewers return to St. Louis. They'll play at 1:15 p.m. local time before their regularly scheduled 6:45 p.m. game.
The Cardinals said tickets for Tuesday's game will be valid for the first game on July 7.
The teams are still slated to play at 12:15 p.m. local time Wednesday to conclude the series, and it's unknown how the rainout will affect the Brewers' pitching plans. The Cardinals will start right-hander Andre Pallante (3-2, 3.73), who was scheduled to start Tuesday. Brewers right-hander Brandon Sproat (0-2, 6.75 ERA) was scheduled to face him on Tuesday, while Milwaukee's young star righty Jacob Misiorowski (2-2, 2.84) was projected to go Wednesday.
