Brewers LHP Rob Zastryzny (trapezius) back on injured list
Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Rob Zastryzny (58) throws in the outfield during spring training workouts Saturday, February 14, 2026, at American Family Fields of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona. Milwaukee left-hander Rob Zastryzny stayed off the injured list for just three days as the Brewers placed him on the 15-day IL on Wednesday because of a left trapezius strain.
The move was retroactive to Sunday, the same day the 34-year-old was activated from the 60-day injured list after straining his left shoulder in spring training.
In a corresponding move, the Brewers recalled left-hander Robert Gasser from Triple-A Nashville and announced he would start Wednesday night's home game against the San Francisco Giants.
Zastryzny was 2-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 22 innings over 26 appearances (one start) last season with Milwaukee. He did not pitch during his three days on the Brewers' active roster.
For his career, Zastryzny owns a 6-1 record with a 3.84 ERA, 41 walks and 74 strikeouts in 89 innings over 80 games (six starts) for the Chicago Cubs (2016-18), New York Mets (2022), Los Angeles Angels (2022), Pittsburgh Pirates (2023) and Brewers (2024-present).
Gassser, who turned 27 on Sunday, was 0-1 with a 6.48 ERA, six walks and seven strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings over two starts this season.
He is 2-3 with a 3.43 ERA in 42 innings over nine starts since his major league debut on May 10, 2024.
