Mandatory Credit: Benny Sieu-Imagn Images Milwaukee Brewers right fielder Sal Frelick left Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals with left hamstring discomfort following a highlight play in foul territory.
In the top of the third inning, Frelick sprinted toward a fly ball in foul ground and made a sliding grab on a pop-up off the bat of Jacob Young. This came on the heels of a stolen base in the second inning, after which he hunched over with his hands on his knees.
Following a meeting with the head athletic trainer and Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy in the third, Frelick exited the game and was replaced by Isaac Collins. Frelick had a single and drove in a run before leaving with the Brewers ahead 3-0.
A 2024 Gold Glove Award winner, Frelick was certainly a key contributor for the Brewers, who entered Sunday just a game back of the Chicago Cubs for first place in the National League Central.
Frelick, 25, has established career highs in batting average (.294), home runs (seven) and RBIs (39) in 93 games.
