The team announced the agreement Wednesday but not the financial terms. Multiple outlets reported the deal is worth $39 million and includes $25 million guaranteed for the fourth-year player coming off his first selection to the Pro Bowl in 2023.
Owusu-Koramoah, 24, was a second-round pick from Notre Dame in 2021 and had been scheduled to earn a $1.5 million base salary in 2024 in the final season of his rookie deal.
"When we drafted Jeremiah in 2021, we thought he was a unique player who embodied the skill sets needed to defend at LB in the modern-day NFL," general manager Andrew Berry said in a team statement. "Three years later he has shown himself to be among the best at the position. ... We are proud that he will represent our organization for years to come."
Owusu-Koramoah established career highs in tackles (101), sacks (3.5) and interceptions (two) while starting 13 of his 16 games in 2023. He has 247 tackles, five sacks, 10 quarterback hits and five forced fumbles in 41 games (33 starts).
Coach Kevin Stefanski said the linebacker will be counted on to become a leader on defense.
"I think Jeremiah now, as he gets older, becomes a veteran, has a better understanding what we do and is more comfortable out there," Stefanski said. "Calling the defense if we need him to, we can signal the defense from the sideline as well. So certainly, you want to keep your best players on the field as much as possible, and that's up to Jeremiah in a lot of ways to be comfortable in those roles."
