Bryce Lindsay powers Villanova to overtime win against Wisconsin

Mandatory Credit: Benny Sieu-Imagn Images Bryce Lindsay scored 10 of his 12 points in overtime to pace Villanova to a 76-66 victory over Wisconsin in a nonconference game Friday night as part of the Milwaukee Hoops Showdown.
Wisconsin, which trailed by 15 early in the second half, pulled even at 56-all on Nolan Winter's short jumper with 31.6 seconds remaining in regulation. Villanova's Acaden Lewis missed a jumper in the closing seconds.
Lindsay opened the overtime with a 3-pointer to put Villanova up 59-56. Wisconsin turned it over and Matt Hodge hit one of two free throws to make it a two-possession game.
John Blackwell missed underneath on the Badgers' next possession and Lindsay answered with a 3-pointer to extend the lead to 63-56.
Tyler Perkins had 19 points and Hodge added 15 for Villanova (9-2), which hit 5 of 5 shots in overtime, along with 8 of 11 free throws. Duke Brennan had a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.
Winter had a career-high 23 points and 11 rebounds and Nick Boyd added 19 points for Wisconsin (7-4).
Perkins hit two free throws to put the Wildcats up 54-49, but Boyd scored twice on drives to pull Wisconsin within 54-53 with 1:54 left.
Brennan scored underneath to put Villanova up 56-53. The Wildcats then forced a turnover, but Lewis missed the front end of the bonus.
Blackwell hit the first of two free throws to make it 56-54, but the Badgers rebounded the miss to set up Winter's tying shot.
The Wildcats scored seven unanswered points to go in front 50-38, but Wisconsin answered with a 9-0 run, pulling within 50-47 on Blackwell's 3-pointer with 6:40 remaining.
Brennan scored underneath to open the second half and put Villanova up 37-22. Winter scored seven consecutive points during a rally that pulled the Badgers within 43-38.
Villanova led 35-22 at the break, a season-low for points in a half by the Badgers.
