Cardinals-Phillies postponed; twin bill set for Wednesday

Now, the teams will conclude their three-game set with a day/night doubleheader on Wednesday. The first game will begin at 1:05 p.m. local time and the second will follow at 6:15.
The National League clubs opened their series Monday when the Cardinals (23-19) prevailed 3-2 to extend their winning streak to nine, best in the majors. The Phillies (24-17) had won seven of their previous nine before the narrow loss.
Pitching plans for Wednesday's doubleheader were not yet known. Phillies left-hander Jesus Luzardo (3-0, 2.11 ERA) was supposed to pitch Tuesday opposite Cardinals right-hander Sonny Gray (4-1, 3.50).
Inclement weather had already forced one postponement Tuesday for the Baltimore Orioles' home game against the Minnesota Twins.
