Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Beck (19) practices during training camp at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on July 26, 2026. The Arizona Cardinals will start rookie quarterback Carson Beck for Thursday's preseason Hall of Fame Game against the Carolina Panthers in Canton, Ohio, head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters on Tuesday.
Beck, Arizona's third-round pick in this year's NFL Draft, was listed as the third-string QB on the team's first depth chart of the season behind Jacoby Brissett, who got a reworked one-year contract worth a guaranteed $15.5 million late last month, and Gardner Minshew II.
Beck, 23, completed 69.5% of his passes for 11,725 yards, 88 touchdowns and 32 interceptions over five seasons at Georgia (2021-24) and Miami (2025).
The Panthers will start 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett for the preseason opener. Pickett is listed as Carolina's backup behind Bryce Young and ahead of third-string rookie Haynes King.
