Cavaliers G Donovan Mitchell signs $273M max extension

Mandatory Credit: David Richard-Imagn Images All-NBA star guard Donovan Mitchell has agreed on a four-year, $273 million maximum contract extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Mitchell's representation, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), confirmed the details Tuesday morning with ESPN. The deal also includes a player option for the 2030-31 season and a full trade kicker.
This marks the second extension for Mitchell since he arrived in Cleveland in 2022.
Mitchell, 29, averaged 27.9 points, 5.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 70 games (all starts) in 2025-26. He was named to the All-Star Game for the seventh straight season -- including all four years with Cleveland.
An All-NBA selection on three occasions, Mitchell has contributed 25.1 points, 4.8 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 609 career games (601 starts) with the Utah Jazz (2017-22) and Cavaliers.
