Clay Matthews was pitching in a charity softball game in Wisconsin Saturday when a sharply hit comebacker nailed him directly in his face, in front of the mound:


They say you should always finish your throwing motion in a defensive position, and that’s certainly never more true than when you’re pitching from several steps in front of the mound. Frankly, if it were me, I’d finish every throwing motion by either sprinting into the outfield or belly-flopping to the turf with my glove over my head.

Thankfully, the damage doesn’t sound too bad:
